EagleTips![]() Here it is!!! Okay, so they're NOT ALL HERE....but it does give you some idea of what the EagleTips set is all about!
EagleTips 3 will be released as Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. These files can be read within the new version of NewDeal Office, which is now called "Ensemble" as well as through Windows or DOS.Here's the information on ordering the complete set: "EagleTips" is a set of files which explains the entire process in "Making an Eagle Scout" for Boy Scout leaders in the USA. The most talked about, most frequently referenced, and most downloaded collection of items for Scouting leaders in recent years, Eagle Tips is available for FREE downloading from the Scouts-L mail site. However, because of the size and number of files, not many folks have the space or time to get it all. Rose Walton (formerly Blackeagle Services of Kentucky), a computer literacy and information management firm in Burnsville, Minnesota makes available the entire 38 file collection, formatted especially for users of Geoworks Ensemble 2.x/NewDeal Office 3.x/Breadbox Ensemble or Breadbox Ensemble Lite. IMPORTANT: You need to Breadbox Ensemble Lite to read these files and to use the clipart. You will NOT be able to import these files into ANY flavor of Windows{tm}. This is our way to introduce this great integrated software package to you and NOT a way to restrict your access to this information!! The program can be installed on ANY 286 or better personal computer, with as little as 2MB of memory and a 40 MB hard drive, with or without a version of Windows! The files have been converted from ASCII text into NewWrite files and are available either as a complete package of 38 or as individual files. All of the files, with the exception of EagleTips 6, 7, 11,13,18 and 20 and the 32-38 set are available via download here; the rest can be obtained through the Scouts-L mail site (listserv@listserv.tcu.edu, in the body of the non-signature posting, GET EAGLETIP$PACKAGE SCOUTS-L) or obtained through Rose Walton at the below address. EagleTips takes the reader from a history of the Eagle Scout Badge and how to earn it, through the process in planning the service project, including decisions on what constitutes a leadership term and what to "study for" in advance of the Board of Review. It also explains what happens after the Board is done and contains sample scripts and ideas about how to plan the Court of Honor and, finally, the files include answers to the question, "What good is the Badge, anyways?" Scouting clipart is included in three Scrapbooks to help localize your copy of EagleTips. EagleTips3 is also available in a hard copy version, prepunched and tabbed with a special attractive binder which can also be used for the official Eagle Scout application and the Service Project Booklet information. At the Philmont's Volunteer Training Center, EagleTips2 was reviewed and praised by national Boy Scouting leaders. They praised the Scouts-L list. Scouter Mike Walton (who edits the hundreds of electronic messages, ideas, and techniques for both the previous version as well as the current EagleTips3 set) said, "This is a great example of what the Internet can do for the Scouting movement!" EagleTips is NOT an official publication of the BSA and CANNOT be obtained through the BSA's Supply Division nor through any other outlet. It is only available in GEOS and PDF formats through Rose Walton. If you or someone you know is working toward the highest award in Boy Scouting, this set of files and information does a lot to point you in the right direction! We are sorry, but our agreement with our software partners does not allow us to provide the Eagletips in Microsoft Word/Write nor Corel Word Perfect (tm) format.
