The BSA previouslyannounced a dark blue knot emblem on yellow background with blue border (shown below) to represent this award but withdrew and changed the design because it was too close to the current Den Leader (Training) Award square knot emblem.

NOTE: The position which is NOW called "Pack Trainer" was once called "Den Leader Coach" and there are DIFFERENT requirements and a different award and square knot insignia for that award. The Den Leader Coach (Training) Award can no longer be earned.

Pack Trainer (Training) Award Square Knot
Pack Trainer (Training) Award

Description: Uniform knot emblem is composed of a gold (yellow) and blue intertwined rope tied in a square knot on a yellow background and blue border. The knot emblem is worn with the blue tips worn upwards as shown.

The BSA previously incorrectly announced a dark blue knot emblem on yellow background with blue border (shown above left) but withdrew this because it was too close to the current Den Leader (Training) Award square knot emblem.

The colors blue and gold are the colors of Cub Scouting and the current design is supposed to look like the Cub Scout Den Chief cord tied in a square knot (personal opinion: the BSA needs to redesign this knot emblem so that it matches other "knot emblems" in design). Pack Trainers support all of the leaders in the Pack, especially the Den Leaders and Assistants. There is no medallion or other formal uniform item worn for this award.

Worn by: Male and Female Scouters
